Justice4Heroes Collaborates with March Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club to Raise Awareness on Military Deafness

On Saturday, Justice4Heroes had the honour of joining the March Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club to address a critical yet underrepresented issue: military deafness. Held with support from Veterans Outreach and the assistance of Jeff Walters, the event attracted 66 veterans who gathered to learn more about the challenges associated with hearing loss resulting from military gathered to learn more about the challenges associated with hearing loss resulting from military service and the pathways to potential compensation.

With the club’s Facebook community nearing 370 members, Justice4Heroes recognises that military-related hearing impairment affects many veterans beyond those who were able to attend the session. Among veterans, deafness is often an invisible disability, yet it can have a profound impact on daily life, affecting relationships, employment, and overall well-being. The veterans Justice4Heroes met with shared stories of their experiences, often marked by long-term exposure to loud noises, from firearms to heavy machinery and aircraft—all of which can contribute to significant hearing damage over time.

Through the session, veterans learned about military deafness claims, eligibility criteria, and how Justice4Heroes can support them through the claims process. Attendees had the chance to ask questions and share concerns, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of how Justice4Heroes can assist in obtaining benefits. The organisation remains committed to ensuring that veterans receive not only financial support but also the recognition they deserve for service-related injuries. 

Although many veterans benefitted from the event, Justice4Heroes recognises that there are likely others in the March Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club community who missed this visit and may not be aware of the options available to them.
